CONDITIONALLY APPROVED AREA - SKOKOMISH FLATS (270446): FOR SKOKOMISH FLATS, LICENSED SHELLFISH BUYERS SHALL ALSO CHECK THE SKOKOMISH RIVER GAGE (https://waterdata.usgs.gov/monitoring-location/ 12061500/#parameterCode=00065&period=P7D) TO CONFIRM THAT THE BEACH IS NOT CLOSED MAY THOUGH DECEMBER DUE TO LEVELS REACHING 15 AND JANUARY THROUGH APRIL DUE TO LEVELS REACHING 17 FEET AND IF CLOSED NO SHELLFISH MAY BE REMOVED FROM THE BEACH UNTIL REOPENED BY THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH.. IF SHELLFISH ARE REMOVED DURING A RIVER HEIGHT CLOSURE, THE LICENSED SHELLFISH BUYER SHALL IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY SKOKOMISH FISHERIES AND THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, AS WELL AS, RECALL THE SHELLFISH. HARVESTERS MUST BAG, TAG, AND REMOVE THE SHELLFISH FROM THE HARVEST SITE BY PLACING THE SHELLFISH IN A VEHICLE ON THE UPLANDS OR IN A FLOATING BOAT AT TIME OF SALE TO THE DOH LICENSED BUYER. IF THE BOAT IS OWNED BY A SKOKOMISH TRIBAL MEMBER HOLDING A SHELLSTOCK SHIPPER LICENSE, THE BOAT NEED NOT BE FLOATING. ELDERS (55+) AND DISABLED HARVESTERS MAY BE ASSISTED BY A SKOKOMISH MEMBER. AT THE CLOSE OF THE HARVEST OR ONCE THE QUOTA HAS BEEN TAKEN, ONLY OYSTERS BAGGED/BUCKETED AND COUNTED MAY BE REMOVED FROM THE BEACH. HARVESTERS MUST PICK OWN LIMIT - NO ASSISTING OTHER HARVESTERS. HARVESTERS MUST LEAVE BEACH AFTER REACHING LIMIT. HARVEST AMOUNT MUST BE REPORTED TO THE HARVEST MONITOR BEFORE LEAVING THE BEACH. MONITOR MAY STOP THE HARVEST AT ANY TIME. SUBSISTENCE HARVESTING ALLOWED ONLY ONE HOUR BEFORE OR ONE HOUR AFTER COMMERCIAL OPENING. HARVESTERS MUST HAVE THEIR TRIBAL ID ON HAND IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN A TRIBAL DIG OR PICK. ALL COMMERCIAL HARVEST MUST BE RECORDED ON TREATY INDIAN FISH RECEIVING TICKETS AT THE POINT OF SALE AS SPECIFIED IN THE TRIBAL FISHERIES ORDINANCE. SHELLFISH BAG TAG MUST BE AFFIXED TO EACH BAG OF COMMERCIALLY HARVESTED OYSTERS PRIOR TO LEAVING THE BEACH. BAG TAGS MUST BE FILLED OUT WITH A PERMANENT MARKER SUCH AS A SHARPIE. BAG TAGS MUST EITHER BE ISSUED FROM THE NATURAL RESOURCES OFFICE AS PER REGULATION S#24-02 OR MEET THE TAGGING REQUIREMENTS FOUND IN THE NATIONAL SHELLFISH SANITATION MODEL ORDINANCE SECTION .05, SHELLSTOCK IDENTIFICATION, AND ALSO CONTAIN THE ORIGINAL HARVESTER'S IDENTIFICATION NUMBER AND THE SKOKOMISH TRIBE'S CERTIFICATION NUMBER. ON PUBLIC BEACHES SOUTH OF AYOCK POINT, ONLY SINGLE OYSTERS EQUAL TO OR GREATER THAN 3 INCHES MAY BE HARVESTED. NORTH OF AYOCK POINT ONLY SINGLE OYSTERS EQUAL TO OR GREATER THAN 2.5 INCHES MAY BE HARVESTED. LONG-LINING OF OYSTERS BY TRIBAL MEMBERS IS NOT ALLOWED EITHER NORTH OR SOUTH OF AYOCK POINT OUTSIDE OF VIBRIO SEASON. PRODUCT MAY BE LEFT ON THE BEACH BY A HARVESTER ONLY IF WEATHER CONDITIONS MAKE IT UNSAFE TO TRANSPORT OYSTERS BY BOAT. ALL PRODUCT LEFT ON THE BEACH MUST TAGGED. BAGS MUST BE PICKED UP ONLY WHEN BAGS ARE EXPOSED. SHELLFISH MUST BE SOLD ON THE BEACH. TIME OF HARVEST TO COOLING REQUIREMENTS AND HARVEST CONTROLS ARE AS FOLLOWS: CATEGORY 1: THE TIME OF HARVEST TO COOLING REQUIREMENT FROM JUNE 1 TO SEPTEMBER 30 IS 9 HOURS. WHEN THE AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE AT HARVEST IS GREATER THAN 90 DEGREES, THE TIME OF HARVEST TO COOLING IS 7 HOURS. FROM JULY 1 THORUGH AUGUST 31, HARVEST IS NOT ALLOWED IF THE WATER TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE 70. WHEN HARVEST TEMPERATURE IS BETWEEN 68 AND 70 FROM JULY 1 THROUGH AUGUST 31, THE TIME OF HARVEST TO COOLING IS 5 HOURS. CATEGORY 2: THE TIME OF HARVEST TO COOLING REQUIREMENT FROM MAY 1 TO SEPTEMBER 30 IS 7 HOURS. WHEN THE AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE AT HARVEST IS GREATER THAN 85 DEGREES, THE TIME OF HARVEST TO COOLING IS 5 HOURS. FROM JULY 1 THROUGH AUGUST 31, HARVEST IS NOT ALLOWED IF THE WATER TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE 68. WHEN HARVEST TEMPERATURE IS BETWEEN 66 AND 68 FROM JULY 1 THROUGH AUGUST 31, THE TIME OF HARVEST TO COOLING IS 3 HOURS. CATEGORY 3: THE TIME OF HARVEST TO COOLING REQUIREMENT FROM MAY 1 TO SEPTEMBER 30 IS 5 HOURS. WHEN THE AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE AT HARVEST IS GREATER THAN 80 DEGREES, THE TIME OF HARVEST TO COOLING IS 3 HOURS. FROM JULY 1 THROUGH AUGUST 31, HARVEST IS NOT ALLOWED IF THE WATER TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE 66. WHEN HARVEST TEMPERATURE IS BETWEEN 64 AND 66 FROM JULY 1 THROUGH AUGUST 31, THE TIME OF HARVEST TO COOLING IS 1 HOUR. SOUTH OF AYOCK POINT: MINORS (THOSE UNDER THE AGE OF 18) WHO HAVE NOT GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL OR OBTAINED A GED MAY ONLY HARVEST ON NON-SCHOOL NIGHTS AND ARE LIMITED TO 40 DOZEN OYSTERS. BRING A COPY OF YOUR DIPLOMA TO DNR TO CONFIRM GRADUATION. NON-SKOKOMISH INDIAN SPOUSES MAY NOT HARVEST A QUOTA BUT MAY ASSIST THEIR SKOKOMISH TRIBAL MEMBER SPOUSE. OTHER RESTRICTIONS: LITTERING ON BEACHES IS NOT ALLOWED. ANY PERSON WHO LITTERS WILL BE SUBJECT TO PENALTY. SHELLFISH BAG TAGS MAY NOT BE ALTERED IN ANY WAY.
